1. You are responsible
- You are responsible for what you, your team members and your AI employees do in Colony.
- AI employees act on your behalf. If an AI employee does something this policy forbids, we treat it as if you did it.
- Review important actions before they take effect, especially anything that spends money, contacts other people, publishes content, or changes or deletes data.
2. Illegal and harmful content
Child sexual abuse material: zero tolerance. Never create, request, store or share child sexual abuse material, or anything that sexualises children. We remove it, close the accounts involved, and report it to the police and other authorities.
Do not use Colony to create, store or share:
- anything illegal, or anything that helps someone break the law;
- content that harasses, threatens, bullies or intimidates people;
- content that promotes violence, or hatred against people because of who they are;
- other people's personal information, without a lawful reason; or
- content that infringes copyright, trade marks or other people's rights.
3. Spam, fraud and impersonation
- Do not send spam. That includes unwanted bulk messages by email, social media or any other channel, whether you or your AI employees send them. Follow the law on direct marketing, including the Protection of Personal Information Act.
- Do not use Colony for fraud, scams or phishing, or to deceive people for gain.
- Do not pretend to be another person, business or organisation, or falsely claim a connection with one.
4. Security and malware
- Do not create, store or spread malware, viruses or other harmful code.
- Do not access accounts, systems or data without permission.
- Do not probe, scan or test the security of Colony without our written permission. If you find a security problem, please tell us at [support email].
- Do not disrupt or overload Colony, its relay server, or any other service.
5. AI models and Colony credits
- Use the AI services and models in Colony only in line with the OpenRouter Terms of Service and the terms and usage policies of each model provider whose model your AI employees use.
- Do not use AI employees to do anything those providers' policies prohibit.
- Do not try to extract, share or resell access to AI models through Colony. For example, do not use Colony as a gateway to call models from outside Colony. Colony credits never give access to raw model APIs or to OpenRouter credits.
- Do not get around credit metering, usage limits or prices. For example, do not tamper with the app or its traffic, fake usage, or take advantage of a billing error. If you find a billing error, tell us.
- Do not open extra accounts to get around a limit or a suspension.
6. The browsers in Colony
Colony has a visible browser that you use, and an agent browser that your AI employees use. With either one:
- do not break the terms of use of the websites you visit;
- do not scrape or collect data where a website's terms forbid it, or where the law does not allow it;
- do not get past logins, paywalls, CAPTCHAs or other access controls that you are not allowed to pass; and
- do not overload websites with automated traffic.
You are responsible for the accounts you sign in to in these browsers, and for what your AI employees do there.
7. What we do about breaches
We may look into reports and possible breaches of this policy, as the law allows. If we find a breach, we may:
- remove content;
- limit or suspend AI features;
- suspend or close accounts; and
- report the matter to the authorities, where the law requires it or someone may be at risk.
We act in proportion to the problem. Where it is reasonable, we tell you first and give you a chance to fix it. In serious cases, we act straight away. If you think we got it wrong, write to us at [support email].
What happens to unused credits is covered in our Credits and Refund Policy.
8. Report a problem
To report content or behaviour that breaks this policy, email [support email]. Tell us where it is and what happened. If a child or anyone else is in danger, contact the police first.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy, for example when the law or our AI providers' policies change. The date at the top of this page shows when we last changed it. For important changes, we will tell you in advance, as our Terms of Service describe.
